Students may apply for a range of scholarships and funding provided by UK and international Government bodies, the European Commission, funding trusts, a number of research councils, industry and employers.
In addition many Universities offer upto GBp 5000 scholarships and bursaries for a wide range of courses based on meriit and academic excellence.

Oxford and Cambridge society of India Scholarship

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India offers scholarships for admission to the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge respectively. The details are as below:
  • One OCSI scholarship worth INR 400,000 (Rupees Four Lacs only) tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford 
  • One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac only) tenable only at Emmanuel College,University of Cambridge 
  • One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac only) tenable only at Fitzwilliam College,University of Cambridge 
  • One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac only) tenable only at St. Hilda’s College,University of Oxford 
  • One scholarship worth GBP 1,000 (British Pound One Thousand only) tenable only to read Economics at the University of Cambridge 
Kindly note that forms are only available by downloading from the website of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (http://www.oxbridgeindia.com/scholarship.php) and are not available directly from the office of the Honorary President of the Society. 
Eligibility criterion:
All applicants must have secured admission to the University of Oxford or to the University of Cambridge. Applicants must also meet the following criterion to be eligible for the above scholarships (please refer to the note: “OCSI Scholarships Guidelines”, available on the website of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India for detailed criterion and guidelines).

University of Southampton Scholarship

Various departments of University of Southampton are offering scholarship programmes for the international students such as

University of Southampton has also announced that all international students enrolling for BSc (Hons) Psychology in September 2013 will a receive scholarship of £2500 on successful completion of the first semester, and the same thereafter each year of the course, subject to satisfactory progress, making a very generous total scholarship of up to £7500 over the three years.

Sir Ratan Tata Scholarships for study in the UK and the USA have been suspended for 2012. Resumption of the scholarships will be communicated on the website.
However Trust is offering Travel grants to the students proceeding for post-graduate and doctoral studies and for professionals proceeding for their mid-career programmes or to attend relevant and meaningful seminars and conferences abroad.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarships

The programme aims to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others. 

The Rhodes Scholarships India

Applications are invited from outstanding graduates holding at least a first class honours degree in Pure or Applied Sciences, Humanities, Law or Medicine of Indian Universities for five scholarships, for a course of study leading to a degree of the University of Oxford (UK). 
Candidates in the final year of their degree courses with exceptional academic record may also apply. Candidates must demonstrate their continuing interest and achievement in extra curricular activities such as sports, theatre and community work. 

Graduate Scholarships at LSE

Scholarships are available for students from India starting a Master’s programme at LSE. This scheme is open to all applicants, with the exception of those undertaking specific modular or executive programmes such as the MSc in Finance (Part time), the MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management and the MSc in Diplomacy and International Strategy.

International Academic Scholarship at the University of Worcester

Overseas students who are currently holding an offer from us and are not being funded from another source can apply for an International scholarship. There are approximately 30 scholarships available worldwide and each is valued at £2,000.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan - 2014

The CSFP is aimed at students of Commonwealth countries who can make a significant contribution to their home country after the completion of a higher education programme in the UK. 
This is a source of funding made available to all Commonwealth countries by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission. 
Level of courses: 
  • Six months of Clinical Training
  • One Year Taught Master's Course
  • Doctoral Degree up to three years duration
The CSFP is an annual scheme made available to all the Commonwealth countries by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission. In India, this is jointly managed by:
  • Commonwealth Scholarships Commission
  • the British Council
  • Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)
  • Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)
  • the Government of India
It covers: 
  • economy return international travel
  • tuition fee
  • adequate maintenance and other allowances.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan for 2014 has been announced and the deadline is 11 October 2013. You can submit in the Ministry of Human Resource Development by post or hand. The last date of applying online through http://mhrd.gov.in/ is 6 October, 2013. However, hard copy of application alongwith supporting documents should reach by 11 October 2013 either by post or by hand.

Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships

CWIT enables Indians in the early to mid stages of their careers to spend time in the UK, helping them to achieve artistic, academic and professional ambitions and to broaden their international contacts.
Who was Charles Wallace?
Charles Wallace was born in Calcutta in 1855. He lived, worked and flourished there, founding the Shaw Wallace company (though there are no connections now between CWIT and Shaw Wallace).
Charles Wallace died in 1916, bequeathing his modest fortune to his family for a generation and then for the benefit of those among whom he had made it.
About CWIT
In 1981, following an agreement between the Indian and British governments, CWIT was established as an English charity. It is run by four trustees, one nominated by the British Council. The trustees cover CWIT’s main areas of interest and are Ingval Maxwell, Dr Yasmin Khan, Caroline Douglas and Colin Perchard ( British Council nominee). The Secretary is Richard Alford. 
In over 30 years CWIT has made around 2700 grants. British Council India advises on CWIT’s work and gives valuable administrative support including guidance on applying for a visa.

Goa Education Trust Scholarships

The Goa Education Trust (GET) scholarship is a partnership between the Dempo and Fomento groups from Goa. GET aims to provide Goan students with a platform to undertake postgraduate study in the UK in any field of academic study. Since the introduction of the scholarship in 2010, recipients of the award have successfully completed their studies in a range of subjects including Journalism, Education, Ancient History and Law.
The scholarship covers full/ part tuition fees for the courses beginning September 2013. 
* All other costs are to be borne by the students.
The Goa Education Trust (GET) 2013 is closed for application now.  

Eligibility

The applicant should:
  • Be an Indian national with a valid Indian passport, domiciled and resident in Goa, or born to Goan parents 
  • The candidate must be in India at the time of applying for the Scholarship
  • Confirmed admission for master's course of study in the UK for up to one year 
  • Be not more than 30 years old at the time of application
  • Excellent track record in academic record and extracurricular achievements

Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships

The University of Cambridge has long and strong ties with India.  Many of India’s leading politicians, businessmen and scientists are Cambridge alumni.  St John’s College, one of the largest of the Colleges in Cambridge, has had particularly extensive links over many years.
Dr Manmonhan Singh, the Prime Minister of India, is a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John’s College.  He is widely acknowledged as the architect of the economic reforms that have helped propel India onto the World Stage. In honour of Dr Singh St John’s College is launching the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships. These awards will enable academically outstanding Indian students to come to St. John’s College, University of Cambridge to study for doctoral degrees in subjects like Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences.  
Applications in Aerospace Engineering and Energy Studies will be of particular interest.
